Our luggage is here!! Thank the lord. as stressful as this whole luggage endeavor has been i will say it taught me two valuable lessons. 1) Don't put anything you really care about in your checked bag and 2) i really don't need that much stuff to survive here. I made it 6 days with only 2 outfits and it wasn't all that terrible. In fact, while unpacking my luggage yesterday I was sort of irritated with myself for packing so much unnecessary clothing ha. I've learned a few things about the differences in lifestyle between Americans and Europeans. I seem to have been under the impression that only thrid world countries really struggled with the availability of water but that is certainly no the case. Water here is very expensive and it seems that most house or apartment owners here tend to drink a lot less water than I am used to, do less laundry at a more expensive price, and take very quick showers. In America we tend to take showers whenever we feel like it and spend as much time in the shower as we please, leave the sink runningwhile brushing our teeth, do laundry as frequently as we please, and buy several water bottles a day. These are luxuries that I now realize are actually
luxuries. I'm definitely enjoying my time here and learning a new lifestyle is really exciting!
